FALLS, OSTEOPOROSIS AND FRACTURES

The SGM Clinic supports the fracture Liaison Service based at Vincent Pallotti Hospital. This service is recognised by the International Osteoporosis Foundation and the main goal of the FLS is to identify and manage patients who have fallen and fractured bones and to diagnose osteoporosis properly in order to manage the disease to prevent further fractures, morbidity and mortality. Drs. Parker and Ross are competent in doing a proper Falls Assessment as part of the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment. If you have fallen more than once in a year or broken a bone after a “minor fall” you should be assessed for Falls and Osteoporosis. Please contact us for more information.
